York Region Preschool Speech and Language Program

The York Region Preschool Speech and Language Program (YRPSLP) provides help for York Region children from birth to Junior Kindergarten entry who have difficulty learning to communicate or interact. The program focuses on the prevention, early identification, and treatment of speech and language difficulties. YRPSLP is a dynamic program, which partners with parents and resources in the community to provide help for children close to home.

Tri-regional infant hearing program

The goal of the Tri-Regional Infant Hearing Program is early identification of permanent hearing loss in infants/children and early support of communication development. Early detection and intervention are critical to future language development. The program supports children living in York and Durham Regions, Peterborough, Northumberland, Haliburton Counties, and City of Kawartha Lakes. The program includes universal infant hearing screenings and audiology assessments as well as follow-up services such as family support and communication programming for those children identified with a permanent hearing loss.

Tri-regional blind low vision program

The Tri-Regional Blind Low Vision Program provides services to children from birth to Grade 1 entry who are blind or have vision loss. The program supports children residing in York and Durham Regions, Peterborough, Northumberland, Haliburton Counties, and City of Kawartha Lakes. Through consultation with parents and community agencies, the program helps children reach their full potential.
